Rivers and watercourses
DfI Rivers maintain and inspect watercourses in Northern Ireland to make sure these are free flowing. This helps prevent flooding and improves land drainage.
Consent to discharge into watercourse
If you expect to discharge into a watercourse, or do works that will affect the free flow of a watercourse, you need to apply for consent from DfI Rivers.
