You can view, change or cancel and refund your MOT/ vehicle test appointment online using the green button below.
Before you start
To use this service you'll need:
- the booking reference number - for multiple bookings enter a backslash
- the vehicle registration number or trailer ID number
- access to the email address entered when the original appointment was made – a six digit authentication code will be sent to that address and it is valid for 20 minutes, you will need to use it to view or edit your appointment - if the code expires you can get another code
The last day you can change and rebook your appointment and have the payment you've already made carried over to the new date, is in the table below under 'Cancellation dates'.
Your appointment notice from the Driver & Vehicle Agency (DVA) will tell you the last day you can cancel your appointment. You must cancel by this date to get your fee refunded. The last day you can cancel your appointment is based on the information below under the heading 'Cancellation dates'.
Temporary Exemption Certificates (TECs) – Private cars only
From 1 June 2024 some private cars will receive a Temporary Exemption Certificate (TEC), extending the validity of their MOT.

Saturday | Thursday before the test |
If the date of your test is close to a public or bank holiday, the above 'last cancellation date' does not apply. The bank/ public holiday should be counted as an additional day for rebooking your test.
