Angling at Portna Canal
This short stretch of canal fishes best during periods of high water levels when bream and roach move in from the River Bann. Beware of the strong current and deep water where the canal enters the Bann. Fishing at Portna is restricted to the stretch below the locks.

Portna is off the A54 Kilrea-Portglenone Road. Leave Kilrea and travel 0.24 miles. Turn left for a short distance and then left again to the canal area. Click the map for more information.
