When applying for probate, if you want to reserve your power to act as an executor of a Will at a later date, you need to fill out and return the proper form (NIPF4).

Reserve power
The law in Northern Ireland automatically reserves your rights. This means you can choose not to act as executor in an application for probate, but keep your power to do so at a later date.
Applying online
If you’re applying for probate online, you must print out the relevant form below, fill out by hand, and upload it along with the probate application.
Applying by post
The application form below must be printed, filled out by hand, and posted, along with the probate application form and court fee, to the Probate Office.
