Probate - renounce power to act as an executor forms

When applying for probate, if you want to renounce (give up) your power to act as an executor of a Will, you need to fill out and return the proper form. There are separate forms for whether there is a Will (NIPF5a) or no Will (NIPF5b).

Renounce power

When you renounce your power it means that you are giving up your rights to act in this application for probate, or any future applications about this estate.

A separate application to the High Court Master would be needed to get this right back in future once you renounce your right.

Applying online

If you’re applying for probate online, you must print out the relevant form below, fill out by hand, and upload it along with the probate application.

Applying by post

The application form below must be printed, filled out by hand, and posted, along with the probate application form and court fee, to the Probate Office.
