The Land Registry Collection, which contains an estimated 50,000 items, is one of the largest held in PRONI.

Details

The Papers relate to the changes in the ownership and occupancy of land in Ireland brought about by several Land Acts which were passed from the Landlord and Tennant (Ireland) Act, 1870, to the Northern Ireland Act, 1925, and the Northern Ireland Land Purchase (Winding Up) Act, 1935. The papers created by the administration of these Acts form the Land Registry archive.

The reference number in the 4th column refers to the Box number of that specific Land Registry archive. Users can browse the descriptions of any LR collection by browsing the online catalogue. To find what records exist for a particular archive use LR1/ before the box number (the number in the 4th column) and hit search. By clicking the left hand links this will break down the contents of what is held in PRONI. This PDF document is fully word-searchable- click ‘Ctrl and F’ to search by name, Box Number or EC, NI or LJ number.
