About nidirect

nidirect brings together lots of information from government departments and agencies, written in language that is easy to understand. You don't need to know the workings of government to find what you are after.

What nidirect is

nidirect is the official government website for Northern Ireland citizens. nidirect aims to make it easier to access government information and services. It does this by working closely with Northern Ireland departments and other public bodies to collate key information based on users' needs.

Examples of subjects nidirect can help you with include:

booking your driving test
finding a job
finding out information on health conditions

Using nidirect

You don’t need to understand how government is structured or which body is responsible for individual services to use nidirect and find the information you need.

You can find specific information and services by using the search facility or you can browse by topics, such as:

motoring
benefits and money
employment

nidirect can also help you to access and complete a number of government services online, such as:

paying your rates
applying for AccessNI checks
