Further details of contravention code 48F

Contravention code 48F is used for any vehicle seen to be parked at any time on a footway adjacent to mandatory School Keep Clear areas as shown by markings on the carriageway (road). No observation period will be applied.

Footway parking is prohibited adjacent to a mandatory School Keep Clear area.

Exemptions to enforcement

Vehicles are not permitted to park on a footway adjacent to a clearway with the following exemptions:

emergency vehicles
councils/ government departments in pursuance of statutory duties (access permitted only to work within the bus lane)
statutory undertakers, NIE Networks, NI Water, BT, Gas and so on (access permitted only to work within the bus lane, only on specified routes)
on behalf of universal service provider for the purpose of postal packets
for removal of an obstruction
with police permission
