Check before travel
Some countries require additional documents for all children travelling into, out of, or transiting their country.
The extra documents vary depending on the country, so make sure you have everything before the travel date.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) Travel Centre also has advice on what documents are required for each country.
Unaccompanied children
You should check with the airline or ferry company about their policy on children travelling unaccompanied.
You should make sure the person collecting a child knows their travel details.
Travel health
You should also check what travel health steps you have to think about for your child, including travel insurance, and if they need any vaccinations.
