Older people and people with a medical condition or disability should consider joining the NI Water and Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) Networks care registers. The registers identify people who need extra help or support during a supply interruption.
NI Water customer care register
If you join the NI Water customer care register you can get free services if you:
- are an older person
- have a serious medical condition
or
- need extra help for any other reason

NIE Networks medical customer care register
NIE Networks offers a medical customer care information service if you or someone you know are dependent on life-supporting electrical equipment.
Anyone on this register will get up-to-date information by phone during a power cut or a planned interruption of supply.
