Further details of contravention code 47F

Contravention code 47F is used for any vehicle seen to be parked at any time on a footway adjacent to bus stop/ stand as shown by markings on the carriageway (road). No observation period will be applied. No signage is required.

Parking prohibited

Footway parking is prohibited at a bus stop/ stand at all times.

are Blue Badge holders exempt? No

Exemptions to enforcement

Vehicles are not permitted to park on a footway adjacent to a bus top/ stand with the following exemptions:

emergency vehicles
councils/ government departments in pursuance of statutory duties (access permitted only to work within the bus lane)
statutory undertakers, NIE Networks, NI Water, BT, Gas and so on (access permitted only to work within the bus lane, only on specified routes)
on behalf of universal service provider for the purpose of postal packets
for removal of an obstruction
with police permission
